KARMA

What is Karma?

Karma means not only action, but also the result of the result, the consequences of an action is really not a separate thing but a part of the action. Breathing, thinking, talking, seeing, hearing, eating are all karmas. Thinking is a mental karma. Karma is in fact the sum total of our acts both in the present life and in the preceding births.

Any deed, any thought that causes an effect is called karma. The Law of karma means the Law of causation. Whenever there is a cause, there an effect must be produced. For example, a seed is a cause for a tree which is the effect. The tree produces seeds and becomes the cause for the seeds.
Karma= deed or act. Karma is not fate, for man acts with free will creating his own evil. According to the Vedas, if we sow goodness, we will reap goodness; if we sow evil, we will reap evil.

How Karma is fashioned?
The Law of karma states that all living creatures are responsible for their karma- their actions and the effects to their actions. Behind every action there are desire and thought. A desire for an object arises in the mind. Then one thinks how to get it. Thus, desire, thought and action always go together. A person desires something, works to acquire that thing, and karma produces its fruits as pain and pleasure and one has to take birth after birth to reap the fruits of his actions.

According to Karma, performing positive actions results in a good condition in one’s experience, whereas negative action results in bad effect. The effects may be seen immediate or delayed.
The Law of Karma spares no one, whether one believes in this law, or whether he is ignorant of this law, not even God in human form according to Hinduism.

Story of King Dashrath in Ramayana:
Dashrath, father of Lord Rama was not spared when he unknowingly killed Shrava Kumar. One may think that since he did it unknowingly, or he was the father of God himself, so he could be spared, but no, law of karma will always act on the person irrespective of who that person is. King Dashrath was cursed by the parents of Shravana Kumar that he would die in despair of his son parting from him, and that is what actually happened.

What some people actually think:
We may do one bad deed, and then to cover it up we may do five good deeds and think that actually we have a balance of four good deeds to enjoy the fruits of, but this is totally WRONG notion.
Had the above been true, we would come across thousands of people who have a balance of good deeds and hence would never come across any misfortune or sadness. BUT this is NOT true. In fact, it is difficult, almost impossible to come across one single person who does not have any difficulties, or any sadness, and this is the result of bad deeds done either in this very birth or in previous births.

Creating Generative Value

The article- “Volunteers wade into Kashmir floods to rescue thousandstalks about  one of the most alarming situation in India recently. The news on floods in Kashmir is very heartbreaking as number of homes and lives have just been wiped away during the worst natural disaster that had hit Jammu and Kashmir in a century. According to this article, we do not even know the exact number of deaths. The city had literally turned into a “lake” during this natural disaster. Lots of volunteers were ready to help these people by donating food like fresh vegetables, rice, floor, water and basic essentials.

The volunteers were doing a great job and they were ever ready to help in any possible way even though the ground was still covered with water. Non-governmental organizations like the Zakat Foundation and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were doing a good job in rescuing people. Also, various celebrities were also helping in raising funds for these people and hence encouraging more people to donate. Camps are provided to the homeless and doctors have come voluntarily.  Many youth were also helping by acting as “voluntary traffic regulators,” and I think it a good initiative as youngsters are considered as the nations of tomorrow. These people are actually setting a great example in the society and they are encouraging others also by their social actions.

What is interesting about a nation is that whenever a predicament arises, everyone does their best to help in one way or the other. If a person cannot help financially, or provide goods to people, the most effective way to help is simply to ‘pray’ because it is believed that there is lots of power in faith. From this article- http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-29218301, we find how challenging this situation was in India and it is such a proud thing that people have shown such great concern for others in this situation.

I believe that if everyone cooperates and help each other in the most difficult situation in life, this world would definitely feel like “heaven” to live in and together we can all succeed in our endeavors.

Life is unpredictable as anything can happen anytime and anywhere, so why not perform some good deeds as long as we live. One should always believe in the fact that one person CAN make a difference!

Give it a thought!

Have you ever thought about it?
Have you ever been so sad in life and asked yourself what wrong have you done to others that you are given such a big punishment today? There are always stages in our life when things just go wrong and we keep pondering over it and whether we believe it or not, there is always a reason behind it and that reason is the “Law of Karma.” I believe that we are here to play a role and that we can lead our characters the way we want to.

Why Law of Karma might interest you?
I personally feel that if we want people to respect and love us for the person we are, we should definitely try to remain good and do good in our life. We are human beings and we do make many mistakes because nobody is perfect on earth but we can make the best of ourselves and improve. We can try to stay positive and happy in life by the actions we perform. Thus, it is important to “watch what you do, think and speak” as every action initiated in the past and present lead to an equal and opposite reaction.

The picture below might interest people who want to improve their life!

I would try my best to provide my audience enough information about this topic so that they can learn more and live a better life. It is not necessary that people agree with my point of view and hence I want them to comment and share their parts; in fact, this would help us analyze both sides of this topic which is a very good thing.

What I want people to learn through this blog is that they understand this topic better and try to implement it in their life if possible to see a real change. And the main aim of this blog is that I want people to share their experiences with me because I honestly want to learn real-life example from people.

Why LAW OF KARMA?

Nobody is perfect, neither is the world we live in, we just have to learn to handle things in a perfect way in life. Am sure many people are not aware of the “Law of Karma” even though it is something really simple which happens to us in our lives every day.

“Karma” means “actions” or “deeds.” Different people have different point of views on the ‘Law of Karma.’ If we put it in the Westerners’ words: “You reap what you sow, live by the sword die by the sword or what goes around comes around.” Other religions address the Law of Karma by names as ‘Law of Attraction,’ ‘Law of cause and effect’ (http://blissreturned.wordpress.com/2012/01/27/the-law-karma-defined/)

How I discovered this term?
I came across this law some years back when I was in college and I was doing a subject called ‘Hinduism,’ I learnt so many things about the Law of Karma and strangely the more I learnt about it, the more I would consider this law to be fully relevant in life because it depicts itself as the backbone of life.

What is the purpose of this term and how can we apply it in our life?
If we reflect about this law and tries to apply its teaching in life, we may improve our personality, thus making us become a good human being. We would all agree that we are living in such a society where people are always unsatisfied and unhappy and they keep cursing their destiny and so on for all the bad things and stress that they are going through in life; hence, once we understand the consequences of this law, we would never encourage bad actions.

Even if someone is unaware of this law, that person would reap the fruits of his actions. Thus, we need to improve our actions in life if we want to stay happy afterwards and it is important to “watch what you do, think and speak” (http://blissreturned.wordpress.com/2012/01/27/the-law-karma-defined/)

My thoughts of writing about it:
I really liked the topic Law of Karma as I encountered it and I wished that one day I could get an opportunity to share this topic with the whole world and hence I opted to write about it on my blog as in this new technological era, the most appropriate technique that is being used to attract more audience is definitely the social networking platform.

So, let’s begin this blog with the only aim of healing the world and making it a better place to live in!
